Step 4 Late Summer: An appropriate rate of a complete fertilizer with iron will be applied in conjunction with broadleaf weed control as necessary to maintain turf health and consistent color. If temperatures are a concern a slow release product will be used to minimize turf stress.
Step 5 Early Fall: An appropriate rate of a complete fertilizer with iron will be applied in conjunction with broadleaf weed control as necessary to maintain turf health and consistent color. Newly seeded turf areas will not receive weed controls until an appropriate amount of time has elapsed.
Step 6 Late Fall: An appropriate rate of a complete fertilizer with iron will be applied in conjunction with broadleaf weed control as necessary to maintain turf health and consistent color. Newly seeded turf areas will not receive weed controls until an appropriate amount of time has elapsed.
Step 7 Winter: A higher rate of a complete fertilizer, formulated to increase root growth and development while helping to reduce winter stress will be applied to turf areas accompanied by broadleaf weed control. This application also assists in quicker turf “green up” in spring.
Fescue: This operation is critical to maintain turf density consistently. Fescue lawns are notorious for losing density due to heat and/or drought stress and its characteristics as a cool season turf, making AOS a critical step in the maintenance of consistently green, aesthetically pleasing lawns. Turf will be properly core aerated and seeded with 4 to 6 lbs. of top quality fescue seed for established lawns.
Aeration and Over Seeding (AOS)
Bermuda: Bermuda lawns benefit from slightly different operation as it applies to AOS. Under normal circumstances this turf variety does not require seeding but does benefit from core aeration for compaction relief, moisture channeling and increased gas exchange.
